TECHNICAL ISSUES AND HOW TO SOLVE THEM

The sections below describe some of the more common issues students report from time to time. Check out the headings and if you spot the issue you’re facing, read that section for a suggestion solution.

I can't log into my account

Are you trying to log into your account or to the classroom to access the lectures? They are hosted on two different websites.

I want to log into my Account

For your account, go to the top right-hand corner of this website you are on now (www.tabaldi.org). There you can purchase courses (although they are all out of stock due to being too close to the 2024 final exams). This is also where you can cancel your subscriptions. For more on how to cancel, scroll down to the appropriate head.

I want to log into my Classroom

The classroom is hosted here: https://classroom.nextupaccounting.com/login/

Make sure you are not logged in on another device before you try to log in. Sometimes you need to first log out and back in for it to work.

You can reset your password. If it still doesn’t work, you’ll have to wait until I am back on Monday, 7 October 2024.

 

The videos are not playing

Sometimes, you might see a black screen and the videos won’t play (like the screenshot below). The message might be the same or something different. About 99% of the time, this is due to a poor internet connection or issues at your internet service provided (ISP). For a list of things you can try to solve the issue, check below the image.

Things you can try if the videos aren’t playing

The most likely issue is that your ISP is throttling traffic from Vimeo during peak times. This is almost ALWAYS the case if this issue pops up. Try switching to a different network (e.g. at work, a friend’s house, or on your phone). That usually solves the problem. You can also try at a different time (e.g. the following morning during off-peak times).

There’s nothing we can do from our side as we’ve never been able to replicate the issue at our end. You can try contacting your ISP to ask them not to block traffic from vimeo.com or you can use a Virtual Private Network (VPN) like Nord VPN to ‘fool’ your ISP into thinking you’re overseas. This has always worked to fix the issue.

You can also try clearing your browser cache or try a different browser, but this is unlikely to be the problem.

 

Alternatively, you’ll have to wait until I am back on 7 Oct to help you troubleshoot the issue.

 

I CAN'T view or download PDf's

Let me guess: You’re using Safari as your browser. Switch to Google Chrome and you should be fine. I’ve got a Mac too and it’s the only solution.

i want to cancel my monthly subscription

If I don’t see your email to cancel your subscription in time to stop your next payment going off, don’t worry! I will refund you as soon as I am back. In the meantime, send me proof of your banking details to info@tabaldi.org so I can process the refund when I am back.

Another way you can prevent the payment from going through is to log into your account (top right-hand corner of this current website) and go to My Subscriptions. Then click on the Active Subscription and turn off the auto-renewal.

I repeat: If you emailed me to cancel BEFORE your next payment, and I miss it… Don’t stress! I’ll refund you provided that you notified me in time before the renewal order was created.
